The price is right or is it?

The Price is Right- Or is it?

Peace at any cost some say, but how much will it cost?

This morning as I was reading my Bible and preparing for my radio interview on Spiritually Raw (www.Spirituallyraw.com), to discuss my book, “She’s not my mother-in-law: She’s my husband’s mother”,  I came across—“Things get worse before they get better but God will keep us afloat through the whole business.” My mind is blank right now regarding where I saw it exactly, but that isn’t important. What is important is that I read it and I could relate.  I must be headed right towards my jackpot I said to myself because I have hit one tornado after another.  I have been hit in my finances, my body, my patience, with my children, my spouse, my ex-spouse, and my extended family-- need I say more?  However, I have not drowned. I have stayed afloat, but it cost.

Behind door #1 we have corruption.  Door# 2 has resources and door # 3 bonding. I have been through each door.  Some voluntarily and others pushed in.  What is behind each of these doors?  If you are interested in door # 1 go to http://www.lawlessamerica.com/ Inside you will read about Atlanta’s most corrupt judges, government, and law enforcement in the United States.  We have been there and done that.  My husband and I faced the Juvenile Court Giant and survived.  We have our custody war scars to prove it.

Door# 2 has the USABFA- United States of America Blended Family Association which I am a member of.  Here families with yours, mine, and ours are welcome.  The USABFA works to connect blended families with one another and with the resources they need to build a healthier community by bringing blended families together and strengthening the bond they have with one-another and their communities.
www.usabfa.org  As a new member I am excited about the possibilities of sharing with others who are paying a similar price and also staying afloat.

Lastly, behind door # 3 is The Bonded Family Movement—seeing your stepfamily grow from broken to blended to bonded (www.thebondedfamily.com).  How beautiful is that.  I just learned of this movement today preparing for the show.  And as luck would have it, all my preparation and material I reviewed wasn’t even in the show.  I guess God has other plans as He usually does.  The Bonded family exists to serve blended families by helping them find encouragement, hope, and motivation as they learn proven practical step-family tips and techniques, inspired by 14 years of experience, research, study, and a faith-based foundation. Their vision is to strengthen and support marriage and children, and enhance the quality of everyday family life.

There you have it.  Door # 1 tries to sink you.  Door # 2 keeps you afloat ,and door # 3 helps you soar.  I’m not sure how much it will cost, but I bet the price will be right.  If you are interested in more information on step/blended families please visit http://www.millermediators.com/ or you want a Piece of Me on Facebook.  To find out more about my book, please visit http://www.outskirtspress.com/rebeccamillerpringle  I look forward to seeing and meeting local step and blended families on September 16th for Stepfamily Day at UCC in Cresskill!

What do you consider when looking for an Attorney?

We've all had our fair share of them.  Attorneys who take your money and forget what they were supposed to do for you.  Taking on too many clients, no follow through, big egos, and the list goes on and on and on.  But is it fair to think this way when there are good attorneys out there willing to go the extra mile for you?  (I haven't met one yet  lol)  What do you think about this Pasadena lawyer's take below?

Are we stepparents real?

The Supreme Court let stand a ruling that ultimately could affect as many as one-third of all Americans — anyone in a stepfamily. But you'll probably never realize it from any news reports on the ruling.

Spring is here- and still waiting

Another season with no contact.  hhmm let's see, what is one good way to get our minds off someone who has wronged us?  I know.  I'll pick up the Bible and read a chapter.  Maybe I can find something relevant to my situation.  Will keep you posted.

STATS

A good friend asked me to start a study on the percentages of military families who do or do not get along with their in-laws.  Will be visiting the military posts doing my book signings and taking stats.  I wonder what the results will be?

Mother-in-law out of country

I ran into two soldiers today who told me their mother-in-laws lived in a different country; so they were safe.  Why does it have to be this way.  Get a grip mother-in-laws; live your own lives.
