What do you consider when looking for an Attorney?

We've all had our fair share of them.  Attorneys who take your money and forget what they were supposed to do for you.  Taking on too many clients, no follow through, big egos, and the list goes on and on and on.  But is it fair to think this way when there are good attorneys out there willing to go the extra mile for you?  (I haven't met one yet  lol)  What do you think about this Pasadena lawyer's take below?

When stepmoms lose it....

Do you know a stepmom on the verge of losing it?  I wonder if someone had intervened early on could the following  have been avoided?

Lawyers need to be problem solvers and not our problem!

Good article from today's edition of Pasadena Star-News on the need for lawyers to be problem solvers. The article can be found at the following link: http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/business/ci_18639868

As a mediator, I have had many divorce mediations where I have had to mediate between the two attorneys.  In particular, two women attorneys who did not like each other, and kept putting the other one down.  If I knew I'd be at cat fight, I would have bought some cat nip to the session!

If more lawyers were problem solvers as Attorney Mark Baer suggests, the costs of litigation would not be as high as they are today.  What do you think?

Meetup for Stepmoms of Northern New Jersey

Yesterday was a greet meet up with other stepmoms at Zinburgers in the surrounding area.  One SM came from the Bronx, one from Old Tappan, another from Clifton, another Tenfaly, and I can't remember the other one!  Boy did we all have similar stories.  We are not alone. lol  :)

Spring is here- and still waiting

Another season with no contact.  hhmm let's see, what is one good way to get our minds off someone who has wronged us?  I know.  I'll pick up the Bible and read a chapter.  Maybe I can find something relevant to my situation.  Will keep you posted.

STATS

A good friend asked me to start a study on the percentages of military families who do or do not get along with their in-laws.  Will be visiting the military posts doing my book signings and taking stats.  I wonder what the results will be?

Mother-in-law out of country

I ran into two soldiers today who told me their mother-in-laws lived in a different country; so they were safe.  Why does it have to be this way.  Get a grip mother-in-laws; live your own lives.
