Naomi and Ruth - Examples of how in-laws should behave
Ruth wanted to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi because of how GOOD the mother-in-law treated her. This is how an in-law relationship should be. Not the way in-law relationships are today. Do you agree?
It would be wonderful if Ruth and Naomi's relationship was how mother and daughter-in-law relationships worked now. I have one insane ex-mother-in-law, one current manipulative-step-mother-in-law and one current prefers-the-ex-wife-over-me-mother-in-law. After listening to my friends, and finding your book and blog about mothers-in-law I am relieved to know that I'm not alone in my misery. I do my best to keep in mind that these trials will make me a better mother-in-law to my children's spouses.
Your story is so common and so sad. Choosing an ex-daughter-in-law over a new wife hurts not only the wife, but the son as well. Do you have an example of a particular trial? Would love to hear it.
